tomorrow, August 31, 2023, and on-campus sessions will resume. This includes:

Update August 29, 2023, at 2:00 pm

For Central Florida, class sessions were canceled on Wednesday, August 30, 2021, to include Tampa, Lakeland, Kissimmee, Orlando, DeLand, and The DAVE School. Classes will resume on Thursday, August 31, 2023, and make-up days will be communicated to the students by the faculty. 

The following campuses will be closed on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, and administrative staff will be work and be available remotely: 

  1. DeLand
  2. Lakeland
  3. Tampa
  4. Orlando
  5. The DAVE School 
  6. Kissimmee Campus 

The Canvas Learning Management System will remain open, and students may continue to engage in their classes remotely; however, live sessions will not be scheduled tomorrow. 

The Campuses below will remain open, and classes will remain as scheduled tomorrow, Wednesday, August 30, 2023, and for the remainder of the week:

NUC FTC UPDATE TROPICAL STORM IDALIA

ON CAMPUS COURSE SCHEDULE CHANGES

Students and Faculty:
NUC University, Florida Technical College is actively monitoring the path of Tropical Storm Idalia and how it will impact our campus communities, students, and staff. In an abundance of caution, we decided to change the schedule for the week of August 30, 2023. The Monday and Tuesday course sessions will resume this week as scheduled. We will cancel the on-campus sessions in Central Florida (Tampa, Lakeland, Orlando, DeLand, and Kissimmee campuses) for Wednesday, 8/30/2023. Students scheduled for face-to-face sessions on Wednesday should attend the makeup session on Tuesday, 8/29/2023.

Online and virtual sessions will commence, the Canvas Learning Management System will be available, and Instructors will schedule the live sessions taking into consideration the storm’s path and impact.

The South Florida (Pembroke Pines and South Miami) campuses will remain open.

Students should contact their instructors for further instructions or questions about their class sessions.

We will continue to monitor the storm’s path. We will update our website and social media pages with changes to this announcement.

NUC University, Florida Technical College is actively monitoring the path of Tropical Storm Nicole and how it will impact our campus communities, students, and staff. In an abundance of caution, we decided to change the schedule for Finals Week.  

DELAND CAMPUSES ONLY

  • On-campus sessions in Central Florida for Wednesday Evening, November 9th and Thursday, November 10th will be canceled. However, the Canvas LMS will remain available and open until 11:59 pm on Thursday to submit all required exams and assignments. We ask all morning blended students scheduled to attend class on Thursday to report to campus on Wednesday November 9th, to finalize their laboratory and skills check.   
  • Online and virtual sessions will commence, Canvas Learning Management System will be available, and Instructors will provide details in their announcements.

Students should contact their instructors for further instructions or questions about their class sessions.  For Testing schedule changes, don’t hesitate to contact your program coordinator: https://old.ftccollege.com/academic-support/.

FTC UPDATE ON HURRICANE IAN 

 We hope and pray for our college community’s safety and well-being. We want to report that NUC University, Florida Technical College South Florida Campuses are open, and classes are in session today, Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Central Florida Campuses (Tampa, Orlando, Lakeland, DeLand, Kissimmee), on-campus class sessions will resume on Monday, October 3, 2022. The Central Florida campuses are closed today and tomorrow as we assess the damage. Yet, employees will be remotely available for students and faculty on Friday, September 30, 2022. To open a Student Support Services Ticket, email FTC-StudentServices@old.ftccollege.comPlease provide your name, campus, and a brief description of the situation and how we can assist.

Canvas Learning Management System will be available. Externship students should continue to follow the guidelines of their externship site. 

Students should contact their instructors for further instructions or questions about their classes and live sessions. We will continue to update our website (www.ftccollege.edu) and social media pages with changes to this announcement or further campus closures.

NUC University, Florida Technical College continues to actively monitor the path of Hurricane Ian and how it will impact our campus communities. In an abundance of caution, we decided to change the class schedule for the week of September 26, 2022, for South Miami and update campus closures for Central Florida campuses. 

  • South Florida Campuses (South Miami & Pembroke Pines) class sessions will be canceled on Wednesday, 9/28/2022, and make-up sessions will be held on Tuesday, 10/4/2022. The campuses will be closed on Wednesday, 9/28/2022; employees will work remotely. On campus sessions will resume on Thursday, 9/30/2022
  • Central Florida Campuses (Orlando, Lakeland, DeLand, Kissimmee), all Classes will meet on Monday, 9/26, and Tuesday, 9/27, this week only. On-campus-only sessions in Central Florida for Wednesday, 9/28/2022, and Thursday, 9/29/2022, have been canceled. Students scheduled to attend Wednesday & Thursday sessions must attend the make-up session on Tuesdays, 9/27/2022 and 10/4/2022. The NUC University Florida Technical College Tampa Campus will cancel  on campus class sessions on Tuesday, 9/27, Wednesday, 9/28 and Thursday 9/29.  The campus  building will also be closed.  The Canvas Learning a Management System will remain open so you can continue to engage in your course assignments.  Lab make up days will be held the following week.  Please continue to monitor the social media pages and website for updates.

All FLORIDA TECHNICAL COLLEGE AND DAVE SCHOOL CAMPUSES LOCATIONS WILL BE CLOSED TOMORROW NOVEMBER 13, 2020 due to an emergency IT Outage for Central and South Florida locations.

EMPLOYEES:

  • All administrative staff and faculty will be working remote, please contact your supervisor for instructions and further details.
  • College employees should not report to campus for work other than those specifically designated to report to the campus

STUDENTS:

  • All College-related and other activities on campus are canceled and classes will continue online as indicated in each course syllabus.
  • Students should not come to campus for classes or other College-related activities.
  • Certification Exams for Medical Assistant and Medical Billing and Coding students scheduled at the campus for Friday, 11/13/2020 will be postponed. Final Exams will be available online via the Canvas platform. Please contact your instructor or Program Director for further instructions.

The new term will begin as scheduled on Monday, November 16, 2020.

Hurricane Dorian - September 3 2019

Update 4: Hurricane Dorian, September 3, 2019 at 3:32 p.m.

• The following locations will open and hold classes as scheduled on Wednesday September 4th:

FTC Cuter Bay
FTC Pembroke Pines
FTC Tampa
FTC Lakeland

• The below locations will remain closed on Wednesday September 4th, but will reopen and hold classes as scheduled on Thursday September 5th:

FTC DeLand
FTC Orlando
FTC Kissimmee
DAVE School

Online and blended students will continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to their courses. As such Online academic teams should support students remotely until their campus opens.

 

Update 3: Hurricane Dorian, August 30, 2019 at 6:57 p.m.

Hurricane Dorian now has a forecasted path that would cause possible impact to campus areas into Tuesday September 3rd. In the interest of the safety of our students, staff, and faculty all FTC campus locations, as well as the DAVE school, will remain closed on Tuesday September 3rd. We will continue to evaluate the path and intensity of Hurricane Dorian and provide updates based on that information as it becomes available. The current plan would be to reopen all facilities on Wednesday September 4th.

Classes will have the following make up schedule:

Blended courses that meet Tue/Thur will be made up Monday September 9th
Blended courses that meet Mon/Wed will make up Labor Day on Thursday September 5th.
Clock hour and 4 day a week classes will be made up on Friday September 6th for Labor Day and Friday September 13th for the Tuesday storm closure.

Please ensure that you take proper precautions for the safety of your home and family.

Online and blended students will continue to have uninterrupted access to their courses during this time period.

Update 2: Hurricane Dorian, August 30, 2019 at 12:30 p.m.

The DAVE School is closing at 1:30 pm today Friday, August 30, 2019. Afternoon classes have been canceled to give students and staff time to prepare for the upcoming storm. We plan to provide the next update on Monday, September 2, 2019. Please continue to monitor our website’s Emergency Updates.

 

Update 1: Hurricane Dorian, August 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.

The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority at FTC and DAVE. We are monitoring Hurricane Dorian,  but currently, do not anticipate any impact on class schedules at any location. All campuses are closed SAT-MON in observance of Labor Day.

We will assess the situation as it develops. Based on current information, we anticipate normal hours and opening as scheduled on Tuesday, September 3rd. Online and blended students will continue to have uninterrupted access and support through the holiday weekend. Should there be any changes we will send out communications via email, text, social media, and our website.
