Hybrid Diploma Programs
Medical Assistant Technician
The Medical Assistant Technician Diploma Program is designed to prepare Florida Technical College students to obtain entry-level employment as medical assistant technicians. This program offers students the opportunity to learn the necessary knowledge and skills both in the classroom and in a supervised clinical practice. Students also learn how to prepare patients for various technical examinations, such as EKG’s and phlebotomies.
Medical Assistant Technician with Emphasis in Basic X-Ray Diploma
The Medical Assistant Technician with Emphasis in Basic X-Ray Diploma program prepares Florida Technical College students with the knowledge and skills to perform medical assistant with basic x-ray responsibilities. The student will acquire the necessary skills, to perform under the supervision of a physician, to provide medical office administrative services and perform clinical duties including patient intake and care, routine diagnostic, and basic x-ray procedures. Students will be able to prepare the patient for various examinations, including x-rays, electrocardiograms, and phlebotomy.
Baking and Pastry
The Baking and Pastry Diploma Program offers students the theoretical and practical knowledge required in the industry. Florida Technical College students learn to prepare and create a variety of stand-alone desserts, bread-based products, and common or special baking recipes, pastries, and sweets.

Culinary Arts
The Culinary Arts Diploma Program offers students the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to obtain entry-level positions in the field. Florida Technical College students obtain practical experience in hygiene and sanitation, preparation of menus, as well as preparation and storage of sauces, meats, and desserts.
Barbering
The Barbering Diploma Program offers the Florida Technical College student the knowledge, skills, and attitude to gain entry-level employment as a barber. The beauty training program is designed to prepare graduates for the Florida Licensure in Barbering.
Cosmetology
The Cosmetology Diploma Program offers Florida Technical College students the opportunity to acquire and practice the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to gain an entry-level job in the cosmetology field. Students receive instruction in cosmetology theory and practical experience in hair, skin, and nail care. This beauty training program is designed to prepare graduates for the Florida Licensure in Cosmetology.
Electrical
The Electrical Diploma Program provides Florida Technical College students with technical skills and practical knowledge, as well as the skills needed to perform installation tasks, provide service, and troubleshoot and repair residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems. Florida Technical College graduates from this training program will be able to fill positions such as an electrician’s helper in residential and construction firms in the electrical trade industry.
Electrical with PLC
This Electrical Diploma Program prepares the Florida Technical College student with technical skills and practical knowledge to perform installation tasks, services, and repairs in the electrical trade specializing in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). Florida Technical College graduates from this trade program will be able to fill positions as electrician helpers for service and construction firms in residential, commercial, and industrial businesses associated with the electrical trade industry.
Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R)
The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) Diploma Program prepares Florida Technical College students with the knowledge and necessary skills to develop efficient and safety-minded technicians that will be able to fill an entry level position in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning field. In addition, they will acquire the necessary skills, to perform installation tasks, service, and repairs for commercial and residential heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment.
HVAC/R with PLC
The HVAC/R with PLC Diploma Program offers the student the technical and practical knowledge and skills to perform installation tasks, and service and repairs in heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning situations. Our HVAC school program also incorporates a computer component, programmable logic controller (PLC). Florida Technical College graduates from this program will be able to fill positions such as refrigeration technician in manufacturing, construction firms, and refrigeration and air conditioning companies, as well as own their own business.
Welding
The Welding Diploma Program offers the technical and practical knowledge needed to interpret manufacturing drawings and construction blueprints, calculate measures, as well as bend, cut, grind, and weld ferrous and nonferrous metals. Florida Technical College students will learn shield metal arc, gas-metal arc, flux core arc, gas-tungsten arc, and pipe welding. The welding program is classroom-based, with a combination of lecture and lab. The trade program will prepare students for entry-level employment in the field of welding. Graduates from this trade program will be able to fill positions such as a welding helper in residential and construction firms in the electrical trade industry.
Allied Health Management
The bachelor’s degree training program in allied health management is comprised of a skill in such areas as managing the administrative area within a health services organization, current procedural coding with information technology, and basic clinical and lab procedures. The program is designed to prepare students for a career as an administrator in the health services field.
Hybrid Bachelor's Degree
Hospitality Management with emphasis in Restaurant and Food Service
The Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality Management with emphasis in Restaurant and Food Service is comprised of a combination of courses aimed at developing universal business and management skills with a concentration in food service operations within the Hospitality industry. Florida Technical College students will examine the planning, managing, and marketing of restaurants and food and beverage service establishments. In addition, students will assess and apply the skills needed to problem solve and operate food industry businesses, chains and restaurants including personnel management. Furthermore, the students will analyze specific industry standards supervising the logistical, regulatory, financial, professional and ethical standards of the profession.
Construction Management
In the Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management program students will be prepared to develop a career as Construction Managers. Students will analyze the management, supervision, direction, and coordination of the construction process. They will examine the importance of safety on site, prevention, personnel management, and investigation of accidents in diverse facilities. Students will debate the building construction codes and regulations. In addition, they will demonstrate knowledge of effective communication, project management, budgeting, scheduling, and logistics
